Bounty Hunter

The Bounty Hunter movie review

When a husband is hired to find and arrest their bail-jumping ex-wife, things have a tendency to get a little tricky.

Nicole- played by Jennifer Anniston jumped bail and is now trying to run away and escape the capture of her ex-husband and bounty hunter Milo- played by Gerard Butler.

One-upping each other leads the couple to come together and run for their lives away from criminals who ultimately want to kill them.

Nicole Hurley: No, you have got to be kidding! You cannot be putting me in the trunk! You cannot be seri-!
-       When Milo finally gets a hold of her and in order to keep her quiet and with him, he has to take extreme situations.

Overall this is a very funny movie that I suggest everyone watch.

Get Him to the Greek

This was one of the funniest movies I have ever seen. It was so good that in 2010 when it was released into theaters I went to see it TWICE! Get Him to the Greek starts out in Los Angeles where record company intern Aaron (Jonah Hill) lives with his ER nurse girlfriend Daphne (Elizabeth Moss). The movie picks up when Aaron makes a suggestion that could possibly turn around the record company's recent slump. Aaron suggests to the record company owner, Sergio (Sean Combs), that resurrecting the great Aldous Snow's (Russel Brand) career could do just that. Sergio give Aaron the chance of a lifetime, to meet his favourite childhood rock star and also save his record company in the process. Aaron is told he must get Aldous from London to The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles in 3 days, a task seemingly very simple. What Aaron will find out is that Aldous has no intention to sticking to anyone's schedule but his own and his out-of-control behaviour may prove too much for Aaron to handle. Aldous developed a huge drug problem after his career and love life both went down in flames simultaneously which will prove to test Aaron to his wits end as he is manipulated and taken for granted. All that is on Aaron's mind is getting to the venue and having Aldous play without a hitch but the disgruntled singer does almost everything in this power to make Aaron's job next to impossible.

Get Him to the Greek has non-stop laugh throughout the movie with crazy antics that Aldous brings upon them both in his search for drugs and tail.

  " IM ALIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE!!!!"
One thing I thing I was very pleasantly surprised with in this movie was just how funny Sean Combs performance is. He has earned a place in my book for being a great comedy film character.

The Hangover Part II

The boys are back!
This time.. Stu is weeks away from his marriage to the love of his life Lauren!

The wedding is in beautiful Thailand and the boys have their heads in the right place this time around. The night before the wedding they have casual beers on the beach around a fire - just the boys and some beers.

They awaken to blistering hangovers in a mess of a 1-star hotel room in downtown Bangkok.
"...not again." - Phil (Bradley Cooper)

The wedding ceremony is fast approaching and the guys realize that they have no idea where Lauren's little 16 brother, Ted, is gone!!
Yet again, the guys have lost a friend and have no communication via cell phone. They endure a whole series of unfortunate circumstances to find the their lost friend.

Phil gets shot
Allen shaves his head
Stu gets a face tattoo
and Teddy.. well, you're going to have to watch and find out!

Allen's character really helps carry this film with his stupid one-liners and witty charm.

Overall, I wasn't entirely impressed with Hangover Part 2 because it was essentially the exact same story as part 1 except with a new setting and a couple different characters plugged into attention grabbing scenes and sequences.
The awkward humor of this film did in fact keep me engaged and wanting more but the story was almost predictable.

If I we're to rate both The Hangover I & II, I would say:
 Part 1:  8.5/10
 Part 2:  8/10

I would definitely recommend seeing this movie if you enjoyed Part 1!

Sincerely,

EH

The Slammin' Salmon

The latest film in the Broken Lizard collection, The Sammin' Salmon is based around a restaurant located in Miami, Florida that is owned by a former heavyweight champion, Cleon Salmon (the late Michael Clarke Duncan). When out Japanese albino hunting, Cleon loses a bet with his rich eccentric Japanese friend and is forced to come up thousands of dollars he doesn't have. He comes up with an inventive competition to see who can accumulate the most tips; the winner taking home a cash prize and the waiter selling the least threatened with a beat down administered by the champ himself. As the competition becomes more intense the staff members begin to go to greater lengths to win the prize, encountering some outlandish customers along the way.

The best performance in the movie, surprisingly comes from Michael Clarke Duncan as he is really, really funny! Some of his quotes are definitely some of the best I've heard from him and they will leave your sides split, unless that is of course, you have absolutely no sense of humour!!

"How come it doesn't sound like that when I say it?"
"...make him smell like a skunk...wiki..wiki..."
                                                                                                    "...I almost depacitated him..."

This raunchy late night comedy is sure to leave you laughing and wanting more Broken Lizard.

Hot Tub Time Machine

As promised, another Rob Corddry favorite film; Hot Tub Time Machine.

Yet again, Rob plays a super-arrogant and wild-styled single man on a crash course to self destruction who drops the most HILARIOUS one liners when the audience least expects it!
This is for sure one of my top favorite comedies of recent release.

The story in summary; is a group of 3 friends from college, now in their late 30's, are brought together by an attempted suicide by (Rob Corddrey). It is decided to do a "boys trip" to their favorite party spot from the late 80's/early 90's in the mountains of Colorado.
They quickly realize upon their arrival that the town is completely boarded up and nearly unpopulated. Regardless of their supreme disappointment, they jump in their hotel hot tub and drink until the sun comes up. When they arrive at the ski hill for the day, they begin to notice that everyone around them is wearing clothing styles from the 80's!
One of the guys gets suspicious and approaches a woman and asks:

"Excuse me, what colour is Michael Jackson?"

She responds with:

"Uh, black."

Hahaha, yes, they've confirmed that they're in a completely different decade! They time traveled back to the good ol' days of their college partying experiences. Not only did they time travel, but they also appear to be themselves at the age they were during those years!!
They have to do everything EXACTLY the same as they did or their future lives could change entirely!!

The boys hit many speed bumps along the way that distract them from their actual mission which make their decisions a lot more difficult!

Tons of laughs in this film - with an ending that can really get your imagination rolling!

I rate this comedy: 8/10

What are your thoughts? Share some quotes!

Just Go With It!

Just go with it.

Staring Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston in the hilarious comedy about a plastic surgeon who has an interest in a much younger woman and bribes his secretary into helping him get her.

Jennifer Anniston’s character helps her boss played by Adam Sandler, when he enlists her help to get the woman of his dreams.

After bribing, trips to Hawaii, pretending that he has children along with so many other funny shenanigans Danny (Sandler) falls in love with his loyal secretary and co-hurt (Anniston)

“Ooh, the Mafia stare down. Very good, Michael. We're here to negotiate. Do you have anything else you might like?  - Danny (Speaking to Anniston’s child about the arrangements to pretend to be his child”

“Michael: Can we go to McFunnigan's?
Danny: How about Chuck E. Cheese because it's right down the street from my house?
Michael: You mention that place again, and I walk.”
